Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

I struggle with this one. How do you know if you’re doing well? Do you perform and make the same as your coworker? Do you call home as often as your sibling? Have your burned as many dishes as your roommate?

While it’s hard not to compare ourselves to those around us, it’s important to remember that we are all on our own journey, and no matter how often you see or talk to someone, everyone is fighting battles you know nothing about.

Just like you have that thing you don’t like to talk about that you’ve got to deal with, so does your brother, your neighbor, and the stranger across town.

Do your best. Your personal best. Worry about reaching the goals you’ve set for yourself – not the goals someone else set for themself or set for you – and happiness will come.

You’re doing great – it’s going to be a wonderful year!
